Chad has been involved in the construction industry for over 30 years. He has worked on a wide variety of projects including worship, commercial, manufacturing, retail, industrial and mixed-use. He graduated from an affiliated trade school with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local #16 in 1991 and worked in the trades as a Journeyman Carpenter for over 10 years.
Prior to starting Valcon Consulting LLC in 2016, Chad joined BBL Builders LP (2012 MFE “Top 50 Builder”) in 2005 as a Senior Project Manager and in 2010 he was promoted to Managing Director, responsible for the daily operations of the firm including Business development, Marketing, Contract Negotiations, Scheduling, Estimating and Accounting. He has vast experience with both conventionally financed, Tax Credit and HUD 221-D4 projects. In addition to his Commercial, Multi-Family experience, Chad was a Vice President of Operation for Legacy Homes. He oversaw an average of 100+ homes and was responsible for the warranty program, closing and start projections, buyer contracts, budget analysis, bid maintenance, customer service and sales manager for five + communities. He also consulted for several years with Cochran and Wilkins Engineering, a structural engineering firm based in Springfield, Illinois. In his role as a Project Advisor, he performed commercial site inspections, structural reviews, and conducted mediations between homeowners, insurance companies and general contractors.
Chad’s industry experience includes over $2.1 billion in Multi-family projects and over 17,000 units, the majority of which have been in Texas, New Mexico, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Florida. His expertise includes markets in all areas of the state, and he has strong relationships with subcontractors and local design partners.
In all of these projects, Chad has provided all of the pre-construction services as well as the CM/GC services. Chad is very hands-on in the pre-construction phases offering alternative building design systems, building materials and site layouts. Chad goes the extra mile to ensure the client has covered all of their bases during all phases of the project.
In his role as Project Consultant, Chad will be an integral part of the project team providing guidance and leadership to your project team to ensure budgets and milestones are met and delivered in order to keep the project moving smoothly.
